Fault –(fault latency)–> Error –(error latency)–> Failure

Fault causes:
- specification mistakes
- implementation mistakes
- component defects
- external disturbance

Characteristics of faults:
-cause
-nature (hardware/software, analog/digital)
-duration (permanent – постоянный, transient – случайный, intermittent – “перемежающийся”)
-extent (is localized to software/hardware module or globally affects all system)
-value (determinate fault is like stick to 0, i.e. status is unchanged over time, indeterminate is like a bug in a barrel multiply-shift register clocking, which means status is each time different).

Плохое (отсутствующее) планирование
Отсутствие приоритетизации
Боязнь показаться некомпетентным
Негативный опыт в Политехе
Неспособность к концентрации
Беспорядочность мышления

Отсутствие знаний

Технологии
Методы исследований
Состояние дел в индустрии и науке

Отсутствие навыков

Постоянного планирования
Посвящения рабочего времени работе
Кропотливого и вдумчивого раскручивания проблемы
Системного подхода

Задача: преодолевать систематически эти причины, составляя список дел по их искоренению и выполняя эти дела.

За что платят большие деньги

Вытаскиваем себя за волосы

Я решил спастись. Но как? Ни веревки, ни шеста, ничего. И тут меня осенило! Голова! голова то всегда под рукой, господа! Я схватил себя рукой за волосы и рванул что есть силы, а рука то у меня огого! слава богу! А голова то мыслящая!
Одним словом я рвануууул. Тфу. И вытащил себя за волосы из болота…. вместе с конем.
- Вы утверждаете, что человек может поднять себя за волосы?!
- Обязательно! Мыслящий человек, время от времени, просто обязан это делать.
